In a statistical sense, the All-Star break is an arbitrary line of demarcation, but for some reason the brief respite appears to invigorate certain players. The Major League schedule certainly is a grueling marathon so those days away from the grind may well act as an elixir to cure what ails batters, both mentally and physically.
