BATTERS: Isolating OBP Targets

While it's less than surprising that the mainstream media continues to cling to batting average as an important metric in evaluating a player's performance, the fact that many casual fantasy baseball leagues utilize BA as their sole offensive ratio statistic is disappointing. Just as front offices embraced On Base Percentage as a more valid tool to assess value over the past decade, some fantasy leagues are taking similar measures by using OBP in place of or in addition to BA.
