BATTERS: Risk tolerance

If you’re a Rotisserie owner, you probably aren't terribly concerned with consistency as long as your players eventually get the stats you expect from them. In other words, the peaks and valleys aren’t that bothersome as long as the stats are there in the end. However, those in Head-to-Head leagues know the value of consistency and must consider it in all of their player evaluations. Rotisserie owners should as well.

Today we will use BaseballHQ.com’s Batting Weekly Consistency chart to identify players to target and players to avoid over the final two months of the season. The chart assesses a hitter’s weekly performance using the following scale:

  • Dominant (DOM): A week in which the batter had a BPV at or above 50;
  • Neutral (NEUT):...
