BATTING: PX Gainers and Decliners

And down the stretch we come, with fantasy teams (and big-league clubs alike) looking for help as they chase pennants and money spots.

Since power will be a valuable commodity in many fantasy leagues, the BBG this week looks at batters who have shown significant growth or decline in power over the last nine weeks when compared with their power performance in the first eight weeks.

The idea is that we want to find hitters who are on top of their power games.

Method

We began by finding all batters who had at least 100 AB in each of the two periods under study:

  • Period 1 – Opening Day through Sunday, May 27
  • Period 2 – Monday, May 28 through Sunday, July 29
