Ken Giles (RHP, TOR) closed out the Blue Jays win August 12, after Ryan Tepera (RHP, TOR) pitched a clean eighth inning, and Tyler Clippard (RHP, TOR) got the final out of the seventh.

The Blue Jays would no doubt like the roles to settle as such as they look to 2019, though Clippard will also be free to look elsewhere for employment next season.

The performance of Giles and Tepera in that Aug. 12 game stands in stark contrast to performances in their recent past. Giles had been scored upon in three of his first four appearances as a Blue Jay, including a disaster Aug. 7, in which Giles was charged with five ER while recording only two outs (4 H, 1 BB, 2 HR).
