A struggling club has finally reeled off six consecutive wins entering Wednesday August 19, coming courtesy of a favorable schedule and (perhaps not surprisingly) solid starting pitching against SF, SEA and COL at home. But a lineup accustomed to having its way offensively with the rest of the AL has been more of a mixed bag, currently ranking 13th in MLB scoring. Ominous signs abound, beginning with always-productive Michael Brantley's (OF/DH, HOU) IL stint (quad discomfort) that began Sat 8/15—immediately upon which the offense was held to nine runs over its next four games. And earlier this week, Yordan Alvarez (DH, HOU) landed on the IL again after just two games back, succumbing this time to chronic knee issues that...
