The Cardinals depth around the outfield may preclude Dylan Carlson (OF, STL) from breaking camp with the big league team. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t made quite the case for himself, reaching base 16 times in 30 plate appearances, while striking out on just four occasions. Beyond the surface statistics, reports coming from camp have been glowing—particularly regarding Carlson’s baseball instincts and baserunning. While those imprecise skills are difficult to measure for fantasy value, they are a factor when considering how quickly he will make it to the big leagues.
