Andrew McCutchen (OF, PHI) and his surgically repaired ACL won’t be ready for Opening Day, opening the door for some additional early season PT for Jay Bruce (OF, PHI), Roman Quinn (OF, PHI), and Josh Harrison (2B, PHI). How are they faring in spring training, and what can we expect?

Bruce is coming off a fairly productive 2019, in which he hit .216/.261/.523 with 43 R, 26 HR, 59 RBI in 301 AB. That BA was held down by a 20% h% and should rebound some, though Bruce’s poor speed (60 SPD), strong pull tendencies—which are shifted against accordingly—and prodigious power (HR don’t count as balls in play) will continue to result in depressed hit rates. The power is very real, though: his 160 PX in ’19 almost perfectly...
