Erick Fedde (RHP, WAS) was given the kiss of death in the 2021 Baseball Forecaster with this parting line: “Watch from afar. Very afar.” Undaunted, the 28-year-old righty started the season in the rotation and delivered some okay performances in April and May, resulting in 3 W, 4.35 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 11 K-BB%, and 64 BPV. Usable in fantasy, sure, but nothing special. A .243 BABIP surely helped Fedde drown out the gloom and doom from the Forecaster crew.

Then, Fedde was placed on the COVID-19 IL on May 19 and missed almost a month. Since returning, he’s thrown 12 innings of shutout ball, with a 0.83 WHIP, 30.2% K%, 9.3% BB%, and 11.5% SwK. Factoring in those two most recent starts, Fedde now sports a shiny 3.33 ERA,...
