The Nationals finally made the expected move and bumped Michael A. Taylor (OF, WAS) down to second on their center field depth chart. Although Taylor is clearly their best defensive option, he is owns a .700 OPS and will need to start many games on the bench as long as superior offensive weapons such as Adam Eaton (OF, WAS) and Juan Soto (OF, WAS) are healthy. Taylor should not be dropped in deep-mixed leagues, as he leads in the majors with 22 steals and could recover a starting role if the team runs into injury troubles. But postseason contenders typically get deeper by the end of July, meaning that Taylor’s fight for playing time is likely far from over.
