The Braves are sailing into the postseason, having all but hoisted their second straight NL East pennant. Many things have gone right this year, as you’d expect for a team with +102 run differential through September 9 (the Nationals have the division’s best mark at +117). Ronald Acuna (OF, ATL) and Ozzie Albies (2B, ATL) have continued their early-career heroics as two of the game’s most exciting young swashbucklers, slashing their way to a combined 9.3 fWAR—impressive for teammates no older than 22. Michael Soroka (RHP, ATL) has plotted a brilliant course on his maiden voyage (save for 25.2 IP in 2018) and is one of the leading contenders for the NL ROY award.
