A week of relievers usage data, 2026

This early in the season, you should continue to look at projections for skills data. However, we can start to look at how managers are deploying their bullpens and make some judgments about various scenarios. This can be helpful particularly in bullpens where usage is murky. 

This week's column looks at some of those, starting with the Arizona Diamondbacks who have turned to Paul Sewald (RHP, ARI) to close games and then behind Sewald, Jonathan Loáisiga (RHP, ARI) as main set-up and Plan B for when Sewald is not available. Here are first week numbers:
