High skills relievers projected for $2 or less rest-of-season

Last week this column looked at projections for relievers at the All-Star Break down to projected $3 value. This week, we search the remaining relievers for the best skills. Two readers called out for Chicago Cubs closer Daniel Palencia (RHP, CHC). He has a great skills projection but is listed for just $2 in value the rest of the way. But given the skills and the Cubs saves, I agree with them that he is going to beat $2 easily:

Palencia, Daniel CHC91233.181.2633%21%0.8
Ginkel, Kevin ARI44183.401.2827%19%1.0

Palencia is projected for nine saves, and a 33% K%, 21% K%-BB%, 0.8 HR/9, and a 3.18 xERA. That skill set and saves share will work.

We also pick up Kevin Ginkel (RHP, ARI) of the Arizona Diamondbacks....

These relievers are the ones with the best chance at profit after the first 30 relievers are taken (and after the first 125 pitchers overall) in NFBC 15-team mixed leagues.

This column covers relievers who might cost you a lot chasing saves but then fizzle out because of skills or injury risk.

This is the annual sleepers column, but let's be honest: There are no sleepers. There are relievers with great skills who are cheaper than they should be ... and that's what you want anyway.
