Relievers expected to have 20 or more holds in 2026

This week, the column takes a look at the holds leaders. Many leagues count on holds for standings points, and others are looking for who is pitching in leverage and could take over if a given closer falters, gets hurt, or gets traded, focused on skills as always.

This first grouping contains the six relievers who have 18 or more holds, led by St. Louis Cardinals lefty JoJo Romero (LHP, STL) who already has a whopping 21 holds:
