RELIEVERS: Non-closer xERA leaders

Today, the column examines just simple xERAs for non-closers halfway through June. The handful who have separated themselves with 20+ innings and an xERA under 3.00 in each league is a manageable number of relievers, and plenty of current closers/quasi-closers have come from these ranks. The best use of lists like these is to wait, watch and pounce if the opportunity presents itself. Let's start with the AL:

AL (to date)     IP  xERA
==============  ==== ====
W.Harris (HOU)  28.7 2.25
Qualls (HOU)    20.3 2.38
Scribner (OAK)  33.3 2.46
Hendriks (TOR)  27.3 2.66
O'Day (BAL)     23.0 2.74
J.Smith (LAA)   24.7 2.75
Loup (TOR) (L)  22.7 2.90
W.Davis (KC)    26.0 2.93
Sipp (HOU) (L)  21.7 2.95
