RELIEVERS: Let the pie fly

Sometimes, we get pie on our face--like when cautioning about Ernesto Frieri's flyball tendencies and high walk rates outside of PETCO Park.  Apparently, the answer is to just pump up the Dom to 16.3 and voila!  Success!  This week, we examine the pens that continue to confound--Tigers, Angels, Diamondbacks, Cubs and Mets and hope to read the tea leaves once again. Then we look quickly just at BPV as a back-of-the-envelope tool.

Detroit has had its struggles this year, but closer Jose Valverde (RHP, DET) has saved 9 of 11 chances so far. It is in his BPIs to date that trouble appears to be coming:
